Sports Investing Advice – The Sliding Scale Strategy – The Follow The Leader – Investment # 5

Well last night the Pies were successful in bringing home the coin for us, only just I might add. Still a win is a win and it puts us back int the black.

Tonights Dreamtime blockbuster between the “White Hot” Bombers and the “pumped up” Tigers in a clash of epic proportions at “The G”. Both teams will be having a real crack here and I expect it to be an absolute “goalathon” and the over 188.5 to be easily breached.

Check out lines and prices at bestbettingodds.com, oddschecker.com and Bet365.com. We are using Bet365 odds for our investment tonight.

Here are our recommendations: Essendon – Richmond to go Over 188.5  @ $1.90  across at Bet 365.

Investing $180.00 to win a possible $162.00

Invest $10.00 on Essendon – Richmond to Draw @ $67.00 to win a possible $660.00

We are having a little nibble on the draw here as we think this maybe a real possibility.

Good luck! Go the over and the draw!

Aussie Rules Football (AFL) Preview – The West Coast Eagles vs The St. Kilda Saints – Round 8 2012

We finish off the Indigenous Round with another classic match up. The West Coast Eagles host The St.Kilda Saints at “The Slaughterhouse”. They might be the last two cabs off the rank this week but I’m sure many punters will be watching this one on the giggle box or fronting up at the stadium across in the “Wild West” to be sure. The Coasters are reeling from an absolute belting at the hands of the crunch em crows by 61 points suffering their first defeat and losing their crown. As for the sizzling Saints they were “toeier than a Roman sandal” last week as they took the Blues scalp. This one will go right down to the wire as these two will be playing for sheep stations. All the talking heads are barking that the Westies will win this one…I’m not so sure.

“The Ducks Guts”

The home side have been riddled with injuries , but this week they welcome back “the astronaut” Nic Naitanui, Adam Selwood, Will Schofield and Ash Smith There are still some holes in the Eagles line-up though  and they will have to be at their very best if they are to prevent a Saints side that is “gun ho” in taking home the points back to the big city. Also “The Fortress” holds no fear for the Sinners as they have  a pretty good record across in the West having won their last 5 clashes there.

There will be some great match ups out on the paddock this week and it will be interesting to see if the Saints small forwards can repeat last weeks effort against the home side. Both teams boast an array of talent and it will be a hard slog out on the park to be sure. Both teams will be busier than a “one-eyed cat watching two rat holes”  as they battle it out in the “sand gropers” sand pit. Last time they danced together it was back in round 17 at Etihad Stadium where the red, white and black got the coin over the visiting Western wonder girls by 21 points.

“In Conclusion”

I reckon this one will go right down to the death knock and I’m leaning towards the Sainters to get the job done in a very tight contest. Both teams will be busier than a “seaside shithouse on a Bank Holiday” to be sure and an epic battle for supremacy and the 4 points is imminent.

The Saint Kilda Saints to win just …by a cigarette paper as the time-keeper calls “last drinks“.

Last time they mixed it up:

Aussie Rules Football (AFL) Preview – The Carlton Blues vs The Adelaide Crows – Round 8 2012

This has all the makings of another ” ripper” of a game between two teams who have both “thrown their hats in the ring” and are eyeing off the “Holy Grail” in 2012. However in saying that there is no home ground advantage here as the Blues record is “dirtier than a well diggers arse” at Etihad Stadium  having only won 9 of their last 20 at home. The Crows on the other hand have had a “shocker” of a run at Etihad in recent times having lost their last 8 games at the venue. Last time they met back in round 5 last year at the same venue the boys in blue fell over the line by a goal.

sports wealth online, sports wealth, sports betting, sports updates, sports wealth, sports arbitrage

This is a crucial game for both sides, especially for Rattens powder puff Blues who went down faster than “cold beer at a wharffies picnic” last week at the hands of a pumped up and lightning quick Saints crew. As for the “croweaters” they tore the reigning premiers a new one hammering them in to the ground by 50 points on the bell.

“The Oil”

The Blues are having a real problem with clearances and it is a area that needs immediate attention, the Crows brains trust are no doubt aware of this and will look to exploit the Blue machine in this area. The Crows are a tougher and harder unit this season under the guidance of Brenton Sanderson and they will be looking to take the Blues scalp here. The Blues clearly need to toughen up if they want to secure a top four position this year.

Carltons pretty boys need to have a “glass of cement and toughen up” they won’t want to have any passengers on the bus this week as the Crows will be ruthless and relentless out on the paddock  as they march towards September. They are a tough unit and harder than “a whores heart” to be sure.

“Food for Thought”

How big a difference will it make to the Crows line- up without the services of Taylor Walker who was put in the naughty boys book last week and will miss this week and the following week after being pinged for rough conduct.

Have the Blues got the speed to match the lightning quick Crows ?

“In Conclusion”

If  we use the bag boys as a guide this one is over before the first bounce with them chalking up the home girls at $1.40 and the visitors at $3.00 I don’t know what the bookies are on but it’s pretty potent to be sure 2/5 on hot favourites for Rattens rodents and $3.00 bucks for the Crows. I wouldn’t back the Blues with stolen money, let alone American Baht!

I would chalk up the home girls at around $1.80 and the visiting Crows at around $2.20

While all the talking heads are tipping Carlton to get the job done here I’m reluctant to go with the consensus of the majority. I think this game will be a lot closer than many punters think and I’m going to go with the Crows here.

The Adelaide Crows to win and take home the chocolates for mama and an ice cream and packet of lollies for the kids.

Warning – If you have a “pacemaker” you better make sure it’s on the right setting and strap yourself in to your favourite chair for this one as there is bound to be a lot of turbulence.

Aussie Rules Football (AFL) Preview – The Brisbane Lions vs The Greater Western Sydney Giants – Round 8 2012

This is the first time these two sides will run out on to the park and have a crack at each other. It is a very important game for the Lions who have been belted around all over the park like an incompetent sheep dog. Having been smashed by the Pies last week by  (58), the week before that they were turned inside out by the in form Bombers by (67) and the week before that they were sent in to orbit to the tune of  (38) by the Cats.

sports wealth online, sports wealth, sports betting, sports updates, sports wealth, sports arbitrage

As for the Giants they enjoyed their first ever win in the AFL by pumping the Suns to the tune of  27 points. Both sides will be keen to grab the four points here, especially the Lions after having played three teams who are in the running for the flag.

“The Skinny”

The Lions will be looking to regain their composure and get the job done at home this week in front of their peers. As for the Giants they are full of confidence after their historical win over the Suns and will be “keener than mustard” to make it two on the trot this week as they are showing signs of improvement at the élite level.

The “banana benders” have been slam dunked recently at the stoppages and if they don’t rectify that problem this week then the young Giants may get their second win in a row. Another question that begs to be asked is can Jonathan Brown get a consistent supply of the pill to be able to put goals on the scoreboard ?  The big fella has only slotted through eight goals in five games so far this season. It goes without saying he needs to go on a tear, but in saying that with an average of 45 inside 50s per match, the big fella isn’t getting enough of the pill.

The Lions brains trust also need to figure out the best place to play Daniel Merrett he hasn’t exactly been in lightning form and if the Lions are to win this one Merrett will need to “light up like a Christmas tree” wherever he plays and not be a passenger on the bus.

As for the young Giants how will they front up this week ? Can they make it two in a row or will they fold like a house of cards ?….only time will tell.

The Giants have done very well in the clearances department, they are currently sitting in eighth position in the league with 39 clearances per game at the present time. This will be a ferociously fought out “hot spot” and whoever gets the upper hand here will be well on the way to being in front on the final bell.

The young Giants have been all over the country in recent weeks….you might hear them on the big bird singing the old Willie Nelson classic “on the road again”. I don’t think it’s a bad thing , the experience they are gaining from playing on different grounds and in different states with different weather conditions is a plus.

How will they handle the trip up North with the heat and humidity ? a good test for the young blokes because the time will come when they have to head up to “the top end” and play at TIO Stadium no doubt (not this year though).

The Buck Stops Here

This is a hard one to pick, of course the obvious choice is the Lions as their playing in their own sand pit and not taking on another top 8 side this week. They will be keen to deliver a win for their fading  faithful here and although I don’t think it will be as easy as many of the talking heads think I think they will get the coin.

The Brisbane Lions to win this one at home.

Sports Investing Advice – The Sliding Scale Strategy – Investment # 4 The Follow The Leader Fund

The clash at “The G” tonight will be a “ripper” between The Collingwood Magpies and The Geelong Cats a re-run of last years Grand Final and we see an opportunity presented to us to pick up some coin.

sports wealth online, sports wealth, sports betting, sports updates, sports wealth, sports arbitrage

The Cats were pumped last week by the Crows to the tune of 50 points and The Pies cleaned up the lowly Lions by 58 points at roads end. We think tonight’s encounter will be a reversal of last years Grand Final result with the pumped up Pies getting one back here. Although the Pies still have injury issues the Cats are far from at the top of their game and they have yet to win the contested footy count this season.

As the old saying goes “revenge is a meal best served cold” we reckon the Pies will serve it up rock hard frozen tonight:

Aussie Rules Football (AFL) Preview – The Essendon Bombers vs The Richmond Tigers – Round 8 2012

Round 8 “The Dreamtime” round the box office blockbuster at “The G” home of the greatest game on earth between The Essendon Bombers and The Richmond Tigers. The game of the round. This promises to be a clash of epic proportions between Hurdys in form and pumped up red and black army and Hardwicks  rising stormtroopers the Richmond Tigers.

sports wealth online, sports wealth, sports betting, sports updates, sports wealth, sports arbitrage

So, pack the kids kimbies and some extra undies for yourself and head off to “The G”……..but a word of warning the security will be doing bag and body checks at the gates so don’t go packing any machetes  or loaded didgeredoos! and don’t try and pass yourself  off as a fill in for the “Dreamtime” festivities.

“The Form”

The last time these the Bombers and the Tigers bumped uglies together the Bombers gave the yellow and black a bit of a belting by 39 points at football HQ back in round 16 last year. The Bombers are 6-1 (actually 7-0 straight in my book , but the clowns on ANZAC Day were let’s just say not actually playing with a full deck). Hurdys heros have cleaned up Carlton and West Coast and fell by a point to the Pies. They have met many challenges, been headed and they just keep on coming back as good teams do. They are well in the mix for a crack at the “Holy Grail” this year if they continue to perform as they have done in the first 7 rounds.

The tenacious Tigers are making a play for the 8 too. There 4-3 record up to this point in time is pretty impressive, when you consider they only just failed to beat both Geelong and West Coast by 10 points a piece, last week they had a good win over the highly favoured Swans and the week before they beat Port Adelaide at AAMI Stadium and they had a good win over the lowly Demons. They fell to the Blues in round 1 and the Pies in round 2, but they were creditable losses and the young blokes never threw in the towel they played out both games until the death knock.

“Dig Deep For The Oil”

Well this one is harder to pick “than a broken nose” the evil bag boys have chalked up the Bombers at $1.50 and the Tigers at $2.60……I expect the Bomber faithful will be backing the truck up to have a big punt and the Tiger faithful likewise will soak up the delectable $2.60 on offer. I wouldn’t have a punt on this one head to head, but I would consider the black and yellow brigade if the bag boys offer a fair to generous + spread. I would even consider a little punt on the draw.

The rivalry between these two great sides is pretty strong and you can bet London to a brick they will give it their all. This game will be like a Grand Final played in May and the winner (if there is one) will be a very happy camper to walk away with the precious four points.

Both teams have strong line ups and one would anticipate there will be some great passages of play from both teams all over the paddock on Saturday night, i would like to be as sure as winning lotto.

The Bombers will have Hurley back in the mix all suited up for this absolute “ball tearer” of a game and with the scintillating  Leroy Jedda being let off the lease once again the Tigers will have to be on their toes. Alwyn Davey has been on fire in recent weeks and let’s not forget Bellchambers, Dyson, Howlett and a ton of other key players. The Bombers have a very even side out on the park this year.

As for Hardwicks heroes the tenacious Tigers are also “on the pump” and have a slick and quick midfield. They are also pretty well covered over the full paddock.

Much will be expected from Riewoldt again this week as the Bombers will be all over him like “white on rice“. One big incentive the Tigers will have this week is to win this one for Chris Newman who is playing his 200th game. Dylan Grimes is a shining light for the Tigers and he has been improving in leaps and bounds as a tall defender for the black and yellow. Tall timber Ivan Maric has been doing some good work too. Much will be expected from the likes of Deledio, Cotchin, Conca and Vickory amongst many others if the Tigers are to ground the high-flying Bomber battalion.

“In Conclusion”

Many of the talking heads and so called experts (drips under pressure in my book) are putting down the Bombers as a lock here no doubt, there are a few tipping the Tigers. The Bombers are a team that always seems to get snagged up in controversial games. Was it a goal ? or was it touched ? a goal or kick on goal after the siren. the time keepers stuff up and extra time is played the opposing team kicks a goal and its a draw or the bombers lose by a kick always something dramatic happens.

Well mark my words the same could happen here. Now putting aside form and regardless of where these two top teams are on the ladder I’m tipping a DRAW!

Yes…you may think I’ve lost it, but it’s about time for one!  Essendon – Richmond to Draw

Aussie Rules Football (AFL) Preview – The Western Bulldogs vs The Gold Coast Suns – Round 8 2012

The Western Bulldogs fresh from last weeks win over the Roos take on the winless Suns up in the “top end” at TIO Stadium in Darwin. The Suns were embarrassed last week as they fell at the hands of the new kids on the block the Giants who popped their cherry in fine form recording their first win in the big league. The Doggies found some form and big hearts last week as they put paid to an inconsistent North unit. This game will be a very interesting one to be sure.

sports wealth online, sports wealth, sports betting, sports updates, sports wealth, sports arbitrage

The Doggies will be eyeing  two on the trot and the young Suns will be looking to redeem themselves and get their first win in 2012.

“The Oil”

On Saturday night these two teams will sweat it out up North as they both salivate over gobbling up the delectable 4 points on offer. The dodgy Dogs were off to a shaky start dropping  their first three games, then they regained their composure winning three of their past four encounters. On the flip side of the coin the Suns have been far from sizzling and are yet to open their account in 2012. They are currently second from the bottom and before long will be equal odds on favourites for the dreaded spoon if they don’t get their act together.

The Dogs will be looking at rushing back Liam Jones and Nathan Djerrkura back in to the side, unfortunately they still won’t have Adam Cooney available. But in saying that the Doggies overall mix is pretty good and they should be able to take home the coin here, then again that’s what many people thought with the Suns taking on the Giants.

So, the doggies won’t want to become complacent and get” big heads” after knocking off North last week or it could be about as painful as “shaving your head with a blunt cheese grater”.

Another point in the dirty Dogs favour is they loving playing up in the “steamy North” having won their past four games up there . They have beaten Port up there three times and Fremantle once, so the ground and the climate holds no fear for the Doggies, add to that an impressive average win of 52 points. Only once have they failed to score a minimum of 20 goals.

Food for thought eh! put some of that in your “didgeridoo “and start her up and if they don’t get the coin here there will be no invite to the “corroboree” after the game. If the dirty Dogs win this one they will be 4-4 and it will be simply a case of  ”land ahoy!”  as the eight will be in sight.I know what your thinking they haven’t beaten any top four sides, but they are making progress and let’s face it things have been pretty dodgy so far this year. So, there will be no time for Hawaiian  shirts and dark sunglasses.

The Suns are a hard team to tip, it all depends which Suns crew will strut out on to the park. Sam Day and Tom Lynch had a good old crack last week against the Giants, they will need to stand up and be counted again this week especially with Charlie Dixon on the sidelines. Dion Prestia and Joel Wilkinson will need to be in fine form too, like they have been if the Suns are to send any UV rays down on the Doggies.

“In Conclusion”

I expect a bold showing from the winless Suns, but in saying that I expect the dirty Dogs to get the Sun struck bone and bury it in the backyard here.

The Western Bulldogs to win by a few.

Aussie Rules Football (AFL) Preview – The Sydney Swans vs The Melbourne Demons – Round 8 2012

Last time the Swans and the Demons faced off it was back in round 1 last year and it ended up in a draw as the fat lady bellowed from the boundary line. This time I fear it will result in a very different scenario. The Ducks are reeling after being taught a football lesson by the pumped up Tigers last week and the Dees are coming off another thumping as they were sent in to the stratosphere by the hard nut Hawks to the tune of 66 points last week.

sports wealth online, sports wealth, sports betting, sports updates, sports wealth, sports arbitrage

On paper it appears this week that the Swans have “the other bye” as they host the poor old Demons up in “steak and kidney” (sydney).

“The Form”

The home girls were sitting pretty and cruising like an old Holden Torana XU-1 until they hit a couple of those massive North Korean pot holes in the road and are now sporting a 5-2 record in fifth spot. As for the Demons they are long odds-on favourites for the spoon and are firmly nestled on the bottom at the present time and it doesn’t look like they will be making a play for the top 8 any time soon unfortunately.

“The Skinny”

The Swannies have dropped two in a row now after going down narrowly to the Crows by 5 solitary points and then being hammered by the emerging Tigers to the tune of 5 goals. They will be looking to re group here and pick up a win over an improving but far from competitive Melbourne crew. The Swans maybe having some problems adjusting to the absence of superstar Adam goodes, something they will have to overome and rectify very soon if they are going to be there in September to be sure.

This is a very good opportunity for the Ducks to get it right and put the swanmobile back on the tracks. One player that has caught the eye and been a bit of a “passenger” of late is Sam Reid having  been goalless over the past month and has only managed to thread through 4 solitary behinds. Much will be expected from him this week.

Expect a much more aggressive and hungry Swans unit to strut out on to the park this week. As for the Demons they have been improving in patches, but last week they were very disappointing especially in their inability to match the Hawks for the contested ball. Let’s hope there is an improvement this week in that area.

As for the Demons Mitch Clark has been doing some good work for them and so has Clint Bartram both players battled away against the odds last week.

“The Conclusion”

The Swans will bounce back here after being torn a new one last week and playing at home. It will just be a matter of how far I’m afraid.

The Sydney Swans to clean house at the expense of the Demons.
